Food!

Today Dad made hamburgers. Some were jalepano burgers! They were really, really hot. So hot, in fact, that they make you sweat. Doesn't sound delicious? Actually, it was very very good, though I had to wash it down with milk. It clears out your sinuses.
I just made cookies! They are cooling right now. Marcus tried taking one and burned his mouth a bit. :( I did warn him, though!

Profound Thoughts

Whoever said that nothing is impossible has never tried to slam a revolving door.

Somewhat Random

Yesterday something quite facinating happened to one of my blisters.

I am writing a research paper (my first expository one- ahhhh!) on 1900-1910. Mom pulled out my great-grandma's 8th grade history book! It was copyrighted in 1913 and reprinted in 1919. Very interesting... World War I was The World War. And "cooperation" has an umlaut! It's written "coöperation"!

The 20 Mile Hike

These aren't my pictures- they are from friends. It was hard picking out which to post- I decided to choose randomly.

It was a beautiful day.

Jumping jacks in the middle of the road. Well, they're Nathan. That explains it all. :)

Volleyball afterwards at the Halls (for people who could still walk)

Snack break

Walking... balancing... jumping...

The view from the bridge over the highway

The very first mile- Surival Mode!

Two crazy people rode unicycles a couple miles. :) Here's Jacob, stealing Josiah's, and... holding it over his head while he rides on his?

The cool guys. This is their hillbilly album cover.

First of all- my apologies for not posting.

So- the same questiong again: What have we been up to?

Or, at least, that seems to be the way I start most of my posts. :)

Well, on Friday I went on a 20 mile hike with all the amazingly awesome people from Fine Linen Drama! I had TONS of fun.

I did get some pretty nasty blisters, though. :( My shoes were worn in- I'd been taking long walks in them for months and months. Yet just a few extra hours gave me nine blisters... none of which have gone away yet. :( But I had a huge amount of fun and would totally do it again!

The nice thing about really big blisters is that it makes it hard to walk. So you can make your little siblings carry stuff for you. :) Aren't I the nicest sister?

The cast party was on Saturday- TONS of fun, especially Murder in the dark. :)

I'd post more but its dinner time. So...

No, I didn't get any pictures.

Oh, and one more thing. Don't know if I posted this and Dad hasn't downloaded his pictures yet, but Nick had his First Communion! (I posted that, didn't I? It was quite awhile ago, two weeks maybe) He's been serving at daily Masses- he looks so cute up there at the altar! (I'm glad he doesn't read my blog- he would kill me for saying that!)

Anyway, now I really need to go to dinner.

For all you Star Wars fans out there...

This is pretty cool! I think I recognize Indiana Jones, Superman, and... ET? Oh, well. Enjoy!

I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT I DO NOT HAVE TO DO ANY MORE LATIN FOR THE REST OF THIS SCHOOL YEAR

Books

Nicholas is reading Lord of the Rings trilogy... the kid is eight, for goodness sake! But he is loving it. I wonder just how much of it he actually gets.

Will is reading it, too. He has also finished the Silmarillion (which I have not :( He likes beating me.)

I finished Emma by Jane Austen! Emma is such a blockhead, if I may say so myself. I felt like yelling at her the entire book!

I have started Children of Hurin by JRR Tolkien.

We went to the library today (wonder of all wonders) to return the overdue books and I got some Agatha Christie books to read after Children of Hurin. Also some books for my history paper. Now I need to figure out just what I am going to write about the 1900-1910 decade. Hmmm. I wish I could have done the 40's, but I have already done them.

I think Mom could learn something from this LOL!

"When giving treats to friends or children, give them what they like, emphatically not what is good for them." - G K Chesterton

What we have been up to

Since I am very lazy and don't feel like uploading pictures... and I am running out of time before 8:00 school time... I am going to update you very quickly on what has been going on.

I HAVE PPD (Post Production Depression)! :( It's not really over yet, we still have the hike and cast party. If it ever stops raining I will go take a walk and start wearing in my new boots.
Mom's birthday was last week.
I had a TON of fun at the Stanley Sister Sleepover!!! Yay!
I missed the dance. Again. :(
We went to Toas to visit aunt Ashlea and uncle Ted and Jacob and Hunter, who are moving to Japan.
Hunter was baptized on Saturday.
Nick had his First Holy Communion yesterday
I think I caught a cold...
Mom, Ben, and Nick went to morning Mass today. I stayed home to babysit Marcus and Rosie (Addie, for those who don't know Adelynn's many nicknames), and William stayed home because he wasn't feeling too good.
I am offically procrastinating and not working on school. *sigh* I think I am behind in English. And I might get the Latin answer key this week, in which case I would be able to (finally) do Latin again. *goes to get off the computer*
